Initial Response Organizer—Home Page

What is the Initial Response Organizer?

Initial Response Organizer (IRO) is a free Windows program designed to help with Route and Location Searches, primarily in wilderness environments, with special emphasis on the Initial Response phase of the search.

IRO helps in two distinct, but interlocked ways.

IRO and Win CASIE III

Users of Win CASIE III (WC3) will recognize a strong correlation between the IRO Note in IRO and the Initial Note in WC3. That is not surprising because the IRO Note is an upgraded version of the Initial Note. One way to think of this is that 'IRO Note' and 'Initial Note' are different names for the same text file—one generated by IRO and the other by WC3. In fact, it is possible to migrate the IRO Note into WC3 in the event that a Route and Location Search transitions into an Area Search.
